What officers check

Both spouses’ names as on their passports, the date and place of marriage, and the certificate or registry number. Prior divorces are evidenced separately — we translate divorce decrees in the same certified format.

Is the translation valid for a partnership visa if we are not legally married?
Then the evidence is different — joint documents such as leases and bank statements; we translate those too, per page.
Does Immigration New Zealand accept this translation?
INZ requires translations to be made by a professional translation service (not the applicant, a family member or the adviser), certified as a correct translation by a person familiar with both languages, on the service’s letterhead with the translator’s full name and signature. Every order is issued in exactly that form, with a public verification link. Visitor-visa applications need a translation but not certification; residence and most other categories need the certified version we provide.
Do I need a notarised translation or the DIA Translation Service?
INZ does not require notarisation. The Department of Internal Affairs runs its own paid translation service, but INZ also accepts certified translations from recognised private translation services. For citizenship applications the Department of Internal Affairs has its own rules — check them before ordering for citizenship.
How fast is it?
