Arabic document terms and how we render them

Terms that must be transcribed rather than translated are marked — inventing an English equivalent for a registry code is a classic cause of RFEs.

Where Arabic translations usually go wrong

A name spelled three different ways across a filing — Mohammed, Muhammad and Mohamad are all defensible for محمد. What matters is that every document in your packet matches your passport — you confirm the spelling once and it is applied consistently.
Calendar conversion invented by the translator — Hijri-to-Gregorian conversion is not the translator's job. If the document prints both dates, we use its own Gregorian date; if it does not, the Hijri date is transcribed and labelled as such.
RTL tables scrambled into nonsense — Generic tools flip right-to-left tables cell by cell and silently shuffle columns. Table structure is reconstructed for English reading order, so the family-book columns still line up with the right people.
Handwritten sijil records guessed at — Older handwritten registry entries route to manual review within 24 hours. Truly unreadable passages are marked [Illegible] — the practice USCIS expects — rather than filled in with plausible text.

Do you handle Egyptian computerized birth certificates?

Yes — the green computerized certificates translate cleanly. Older handwritten sijil records route to manual review.

Is this translation accepted by USCIS?

Yes. USCIS requires a complete English translation together with a certification that the translator is competent and the translation is accurate (8 CFR 103.2(b)(3)). Every order includes that signed certification on company letterhead, with an order number that can be independently verified on our verification page. If USCIS ever rejects a translation we prepared, we revise it free of charge or refund you in full.

Do I need a notarized translation?

Not for USCIS. USCIS removed the notarization requirement decades ago — a certified translation is exactly what the instructions ask for. Some DMVs, courts and apostille processes do want notarization; if that is your situation, contact us and we will point you to a suitable notarized-translation provider.

Industry practice (and USCIS expectation) is to mark unreadable text as [Illegible] rather than guess. Our multi-step verification compares two independent AI readings plus your own confirmation of names and dates, so nothing is silently invented.
